What is an FHA loan?

An FHA loan is a government-backed mortgage designed to assist first-time homebuyers and those with lower credit scores or limited down payment funds. It is insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) and allows for a down payment as low as 3.5% of the purchase price.

Eligibility is based on credit, income, liabilities, and assets. Once those are addressed, we can determine eligibility. Credit scores as low as 520 may be considered, with other factors notwithstanding.

FHA Loans can provide lower costs at closing and sometimes lower interest rates. This can provide easier access from a cash-on-hand perspective or lower interest rates, which can help from a cash flow perspective from month to month.
